Snowdon Horseshoe

Introduction
The Snowdon Horseshoe is an excellent ridge walk and scramble, up to the summit of Yr Wyddfa, Snowdon in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park in Wales. All the way up you will be presented with unsurpassable views over to Llanberis and Anglesey in the North West and down Cardigan bay in the South. It is quite narrow in a lot of places and should not really be attempted by anyone with a fear of heights, but for those who do the rewards are exhilarating.

The Accommodation
We stayed at the Bryn Du Mountain Centre in Llanberis, approximately 5 miles from Pen y Pas cafe. This is a very pleasant Hostel situated in the centre of Llanberis and close to all local amenities. It offers excellent facilities of an excellent standard at a very reasonable price including breakfast (juice, cereals and hot sandwiches), Bunks with Duvet's, tea/coffee making facilities, dining area, lounge and patio area. A highly recommended place to stay.

Directions to the Bryn Du Mountain Centre in Llanberis Snowdonia can be obtained here.

Eating and Drinking
Llanberis offers several eating and drinking establishments, together with a local Spar. We ate at the Peak Brasserie which offers a choice of menus and, to be perfectly honest, the quality of food is exceptional. Definitely worth a visit.
